After having worked as an employee for over 22 years, I started my own business early 2014. An international career of eight years in hydrography / superintendent in dredging, 4 years as a project manager for a contractor in the civil engineering sector and the last 10 years as Managing Director Design & Construct for international Engineering & Consultancy firm ARCADIS preceded this.

My main drive is to professionally organize and construct civil engineering projects, empowering the involved employees. During my employment at ARCADIS I was able to gain a lot of experience in managing a team of project managers and optimizing project processes.

Through my additional study HEAO Business Economics, with focus on psychology and HRM, I learned to manage people, depending on an employee personal needs. This "custom managing" ensures an employee will contribute to projects, based on personal skills and commitment. As a result fun and performance improves and projects deliver better results. PRINCE2 Practitioning and Risk Management techniques are helpful designing the required project processes.

I have a broad international focus and a large international network in Asia. Regularly I may be found visiting China or Hong Kong for business. Together with partner Fourwins in Shanghai I mediate and organize the procurement & sourcing of construction materials in China for the Dutch and Belgian civil engineering sector. On such assignments, GTO handles the entire process of contracting, quality control, logistics and import.

GTO represents a no-nonsense approach and decisive action. With good analytical skills, a lot of leadership experience, business insight and common sense I try to be supportive to both government institutes (department of Waterways and Public Works) as well as consulting & engineering firms and contractors. Assignments can be adopted based on time spent as well as a lump sum basis. Priority is always to provide added value for the customer.
